John Lewis, a big department store in UK. This afternoon we watched the BBC’s programme, “Inside John Lewis”. The programme has three parts and we watched the first and the main part. It was about the 2009 Christmas ads of John Lewis.
The ads shows one concept: Remember how Christmas used to feel. In the ads, the children received different types of gifts. But the gifts seem to be not fit for the children. But at the end of the ads, the girl ,who used the camera, has became an adult. The ads want to tell customers and audiences one information: when you received a gift which is from John Lewis, you feel so excited just like you are a child. When you were a child, you felt happy and excited when you received a christmas present. In my opinion, this is the main concept that the ads shows.
The background song is Gun’n Rose Sweet Child O Mine. But it is a cover version. This version softer than the original one. And match the ads.
